Hi I was having a hard time getting mercruiser 4 cylinder to start when checking fuel it is brown. I am draining will I have to flush or is draining and refuel enough?

It's probably rust. You may have water at the bottom of the tank. Drain the tank, fill it with a bit of fresh fuel and try and flush as much of the particulate out as possible. Ensure you're running a good filter or two until it clears up. If you have a F/W separator, dump it into a clear jar to see what's in there. Dump it regularly as well until you're running clear.

Ayuh,.... Flushin' it out, Might be enough,.... Could be beyond that as well,....

Pull the gauge sender, 'n look 'round inside it,....

Like Oskkosh says, addin' a canister type separator filter will no doubt help, 'n gives a great inspection point,....
