Wife went out with the ladies tonite so I'm watchin some TV with my kids. My son put on the NASCAR Bud Shootout and it's tortuous to watch. Twenty minutes now of blah blah blah. When did car racing become a soap opera??? I don't care what Kevin Harvick did on his vacation, get in the car, go fast, and put someone in the wall if they don't!!!!!

Re: Bud shootout

If you're a passionate fan of a semi popular sport the worst thing that can happen is it becomes a popular tv sport.
This happened to hockey, football and I'm sure many others.
All the rules change to match the tv format and the game goes to the dreggs.

Hmmmm.... Lemme guess.... Stewart Fan?

Not a big Nascar fan. Worked modified on a 1/4 mile track out on the east end of Long Island years back and loved it. My son loves Nascar. Took him to Pocono early June 2007,he loved it, and I was disappointed with the follow the leader all day. I root for a Dodge to win cause my son roots for all the popular chevy guys. Seems like all kids root chevy around here.

When in Phoenix, I pulled off interstate 10 south of Chandler for 1/2 hour to watch 1/2dozen street cars racing on a makeshift track in the desert. Sure was more fun to watch than this dribble.

Don, I am sorry about your choice of drivers, but hey, to each his own! :D ;) . Yep, the smile and the win were priceless! I liked the outcome, except the Toyotas did too well ...:p

I agree !!!!! And the smile on his face :D :D

PS: And i'm a 24 fan since day 1

Pretty boy fan, eh? I do have to say, I like to watch his interviews.... It's like an old western -- Just as old cowboys never lose their hats when they fall down mountain sides, ride their horses, or get in a good 'ol fist fight.....

His hair is always perfect.

By the way, is it just me, or is Smoke pickin' up a little in the weight department? I think he ate Jerod's share of Subway.

Yep! me too. I like to watch Boxing ,bowling ,nascar & billiards. But those sports shows where 3 or 4 guys sit around on T V and yak about the sport
AND get paid for it . P-SS me off. What makes the T V big shots think that is entertaining?

Re: Bud shootout

Winning the bud shootout is nice, but I hope he can win that 500. That would realy send a message back to Theresa.;)

So, with Johnson qualifying like he did.... do you get the feeling maybe Johnson wanted JR to win too? Like the little extra bump-draft, and he could've pulled out and around, but he wanted to help JR send a message to the big T? I hope not, but after watching his qualifying run, I'm not so sure........

On another note, I would've given my left nad to have been in the room with Teresa when JR won... I'm the kind of guy that would've gotten under her skin in a hurry.... "Bet yer glad you got rid of the most popular driver in NASCAR, huh?" or "See what he can do with a decent car, and more importantly, a decent team owner?"

The 'ol hag.

Yea, Tony does look a tad chunkier than last year.
Oh yea, when you do see Smoke again and if he did punch out Kurt, shake his hand and say "Good Job" and tell him that is from me :D

PS: Wanna switch jobs? ;)

I get your thoughts on JJ pushing JR, but they qualified different cars than that race.

I'm not saying they were the same cars... if you watch ANY race, he who bump-drafts, if he does it right, can sling shot around the lead car.... I just can't help but think Yimmy wanted to help JR send a message to DEI.

Re: Bud shootout

For sure Jeff was helping. Did you see him back off from pushing Smoke past him on the last lap.
