The other changes that I made were effective as well. For instance, we already used the middle cleats on the port side.

Moving the Bimini top forward put us in the shade MUCH more of the time, AND it put the windshield and instruments in the shade, allowing me to see much better.

It's the little things, sometimes, that make big differences.
Now, I can navigate by the stars. :)

I've been making some improvements on the boat since our recent week-long vacation on Lewis Smith Lake.

Most importantly, was to improve the padding in the bottom of the bucket seats. The lakes have much bigger wakes these days compared to 1993, when this boat was manufactured. Our backs were hurting from the jarring. (Not all of them are avoidable.)
I replaced the soft foam with dense foam in the center section, and then added wedges of dense foam to both sides of the center section. Haven't tried it out on the water, yet, but it is a huge difference.

Original on right. Reupholster on left. (2020)

With upgraded bottom. (It only looks yellowed because it was in the carport.)

The next improvement I am making is to add an assist pole for getting in and out safely. (Some of us have arthritis.)

There is a smaller red knob on the bottom to protect bare feet.
Also not yet tested. I guess we will have to go to the lake....
