Building a new dogbox over engine

Bought a 1988 StarCraft Islander 221V. Needs a new dogbox built over motor and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what to use or pics they would care to share. My first boat and new to forum, so I hope I am doing everything correct. Thanks!!

Is the old one missing or just totally damaged? What was the old one made out of (for example, wood, metal, fiberglass, etc)

If the old one is not missing, try to post some pictures

The old one was made by the previous owner and doesn't fit well and is made horrible. It was made out of wood. I will take pics and post. Thank you!

This might help...

I'd use ext grade 1/2Plywood and seal it with either epoxy resin or one of my favorites...

As shown carpet and vinyl makes it more functional.
Some sound proofing material glued to the inside is also kinda nice.
