Re: Building a new engine

Thanks Don, you are correct, the engine is a 1992.

I do not have a 302, have a 351w and thats where you mount the alt bracket. I.m surprised it mounts there and not the block. What happened to the old one? I believe the alum timing covers do not have the mounting plate on them not 100% sure.

I was a little surprised too, but it does bolt to the timing cover. I also think you are correct about the aluminum ones not having the mounting plate. I have the original one but it is a little rough so I was thinking about replacing it. It looks like I'll have to sandblast, paint and hope for the best.

Thanks

Re: Building a new engine

Does anyone know where I can find a complete bolt set for an OMC Ford 302 ? I have seen a few sets on ebay but it looks like some of the bolts won't work on a marine 302.

Thanks

Im currently doing the same thing. I have my old marine motor that came out of it so Im able to convert most over. I put brass freeze plugs in and and got a different marine came though.
