Building the Interior

I am doing a complete rebuild on a 85 Supra Sunsport and I am at the point of building a new interior... It has an inboard motor so back to back seats are out... I just need to know how to attach the seat backs to the boat without putting hole through the vinyl. I know I can get the little buttons but I don't like the way sit looks and I can figure out how to attach these backs unless I attach them while the cap is off.

Any Ideas are welcome... Thanks!

Wide velcro strips? You can get velcro in 3" widths and they might work if there is a back to attach them to.

I thought about that but I was wondering how that would last here in Texas Heat...
For instance >> It has been 100+ here for the last few weeks and summer has just begun....

I will look into that some more but I was thinking of a solid mechanical fastener.

Thanks!

you can use what they call, plastic rivits.

its a plastic piece that goes thru the seat wood and into a plastic anchor in the fixed part.

common in boat building.

but im going velcro......
we get huge heat here where i live and i cant see it being a factor.

cheers
