Built in Fuel Tank

The original motor on my 89 TRX was most likely a 89 VRO type not 100% sure. The person I bought the boat from said he's never used it, so it's been sitting there for five years now. I was wondering if I could use it again? I mean pre-mixing the fuel and just pouring it in via the original filler nozzle. But I have no idea if it leaks or what condition inside the tank is.
If the tank checks out, is there any reason I could use it for pre-mix fuel?

Converted my Doral 164 with 140HP Johnson VRO to pre-mix about 6 years ago. Just mixed the fuel and put it in the built in tank. No problem. You should drain the tank first though if it has been sitting for a few years.

Yup, clean out the tank and lines and you should be good to go.

Cleaning out the tank will highlight any leaks, I would replace the fuel lines, after 5yrs sitting unused they are likely to have dried out and started to deteriorate on the inside.
