Bumper molding

I need to put back a 2 part rubber bumper molding on boat.
The first part rubber piece screws on(done) and a rubber molding with a top and bottom v shaped rubber fits into rubber molding.
I've been fitting bottom on then usingna screw driver to push in top. IS THERE A BETTER AND FASTER WAY.

the only thing i found to make it easier, is for it to lay in the sun and get warm, more plyable.

Spray some lube on it or dishwasher soap like the body shops do with windshield rubbers.

i used some 303 areospace protectant on my rub rail rubber bumper. seemed to turn it most plyable.......
