Bunk Slicks?

Does anybody know if the wrap around bunk slicks that go over carpet and fasten from the bottom work or are they too flimsy and a waste of time to install. I would like to install something on the front third of the bunks to give it just a little initiative to slide back when launching. I don't plan on adding anything that is 1/2" thick that might dent the pontoons or make it sit uneven enough to wear on them. On second thought I think I will try some silicon spray first.

to launch, I put the trailer farther back in the water to wear the pontoon floats right off. that works great for me, hope this helps you

I put them on my 24 ft trailer, Couldn't tell any difference. I backed the trailer up to the water's edge Got the boards wet and I unlooked the boat and it just sat there. So I used the boat the normal way, I backed to boat until it floated off. It's a steep ramp too. Cost me $250.00 They look good though.

Thanks! Silver Eagle, I was just thinking about trying the cheap ones that only cost about $40 for ten pieces and just installing them up near the front where the boat tends to want to cling a little to the trailer. Like you said the back wants to float off pretty easily because it is down in the water. I am learning how to get the truck in 4wheel drive for when I need it the next time. We had a little trouble the last time because of the low water levels at all of the ramps around here right now. Like the wife says all the time -I should read the instructions before doing things, I learned a lot buy reading the owners manual for the truck last night.

I read somewhere, that they are just spraying silicone lube on the bunks, and they become a lot more slippery.
