Hi, I am looking at buying a used galvanized trailer for my 14' Lund modified v. I currently have a steel roller trailer that is starting to show signs of rust and am looking at galvanized to minimize future painting maintenance on the trailer. Would this galvanized trailer work for my boat, assuming the length is ok? (seller says it fits 14'-16' boats). A couple of pics of my boat are also attached. My boat is flat bottom on the back and starts a v about midway to the bow. Thanks for any input!

Re: Bunk trailer for 14' modified v

I ended up buying the trailer and it seems like it will work well for me. The carpet is worn and the bunks are starting to rot so I am going to replace them.

I am able to get a pair of 5' galvanized roller bunks for cheap and am thinking of adding them to the trailer. I have a question about it though. The bunks are 8' long. If I put the 5' bunk rollers on and then put 3' carpeted bunks the rest of the way that have about the same height as the rollers will that cause any issues? I would be putting the roller bunks towards the back end of the trailer. The trailer is currently setup with the 8' bunks sitting on top of 8' long galvanized pieces which are attached to the trailer at the 2 cross members. I am thinking/hoping the roller bunks will make the launch/retrieve process easier especially for some of the shallower lakes I go to.

These are the roller bunks I am talking about.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.galvanized bunk rollers.jpg
