This motor a 2002 75hp 4 stroke has very "low" hours on it i bought it with a bad fuel pump and in very bad cosmetic condition. After waiting 5 week for a fuel pump i went ahead and tried to start it up. It fired right up but had a real bad knock in the lower end, i pulled the lower end off and found that one of the piston rod bearings were gone where it hooks to the crank there dosent seem to be any bad damage to the crank just a little bit rough and the piston rod seems to be still strait and tight on the pin that holds it to the piston. And a ton of little pieces if chewed up bearing. I was just wondering what my options were, could i have the crank polished back up and buy a new set of bearings for the new tolerances ??? The seller sold it to my wife wile i was on a 4 wheelin trip. He told her that it "runs good" well it did run good but sounded like a diesel engine with 500,000 miles on it. thanks for any opinions in advance.
