Congrats on the boat. :) Normally this place is hopping, I'm surprised no one replied. I own a 2000 Larson Cabrio and love it. Only work done to it so far has been greasing some sort of steering cable. Its got 150 hrs on it.

Never heard of a Larson only forum..(Other than this one of course)

Good luck with the new boat!!

Hey fellows......Welcome aboard. I too have a Larson, it's the Senza 206. No problems but then again it only has about 20 hrs. Rides like a champ!! So far nothing but good.

I just saw that idential boat (right down to the colors) at a local boat show for $40,000 new. Just trying to provide a reference point for used pricing.

Just not a lot of Larson owners! I RARELY see another one on the lake. I love my 97 226 LXI. I looked at the newer ones but for the size I needed I had to go with used...

Thanks, Its loaded, stereo, amps, dual batteries, covers, bimini, all the cleats are pop ups, table in the rear, u shaped seating, Adjustable swivel pedestals for captain and first mate, BIG locker area and just like the newer ones, LOTS and LOTS of under hatch storage. The selling point was the Bravo III and 5.7 efi engine. I didn't like the colors of the stripes (Green and Gold) so I took them off and added black and silver (matches the tow truck a lot better)

Re: 19 lxi larson

Does anyone know, will the bench seat in rear and bulkhead in front of engine come out to help with engine maintenance?
Pretty hard to get my big butt down there to change out the bilge pump

Hello J&K,

Welcome and congratulations on the purchase of your boat. I've owned 5 boats and this one is the best one when came to quality and ride. I hope you like yours as much as I do.

Previous owned boats:

1995 Mastercraft 200VRS - Corvette 350 EFI
1998 Fourwinns 180 - 3.0 L
2002 Stingray 190 - 4.3 L
2003 Fourwinns 190 - 4.3 L
2006 Larson 208 LXi - 5.0 MPI

Re: Buying 19 lxi larson maybe

seems like a great boat
just doing a complete change of fluids, so I know where we are starting from.
Also working out a few bugs.
Try replacing the bilge pump, I never knew there was so much blood in a body that rushes to your head when your upside down.
My tach is not working.
Does anybody know if you hook up a tester to the gray wire will it flash with the rpm signal?
So far I have tried with a light tester and a multi meter, and no sign of a pulse or signal.

I was hoping it was just a dead tach but not sure now , nobody really can say one way or other and the merc mechanics are keeping it close to there hearts.

J&K,

I know what you're talking about on the blood going to your head! I recently spent 3 evenings reinstalling 5 blue drain plugs that was pulled when I had my engine winterized. Even with a diagram in hand on where they go, I still couldn't find them.

Tach: I wonder if you could run a new wire or possibly remove the tach from the dash and take it to the engine and run a wire straight from the coil (I believe that is what powers it).

Re: Buying 19 lxi larson maybe

I know this is an old thread, but I just purchased a 2001 SEI 190 with the 4.3

I don't have it in my driveway yet, but I am really excited. Seems like a great boat! My tach doesn't work either. What'd you end up finding out?

Re: Buying 19 lxi larson maybe

Congrats on the new boats guys!!!! I bought my larson last summer its an 08 LXI 228 and for the price and quality i really don't think you can beat larson. And larson really does stand behind their product I had a couple little problems with the bow seats and didn't figure warranty would cover it, But they sent me two brand new seats straight from the factory with all of the hardware.

Good luck with your new purchase,

Re: Buying 19 lxi larson maybe

I too just purchased a 2002 190LXi and I am super happy. All I have to figure out is where to put my new Garmin 640 GPS! I beleive it to be better than anything Bayliner/Sea Ray makes. I was wnating to to with the 4.3l Volvo-Penta what would be the sweet spot for max RPM/Speed/mileage?

Thanks

Hal
