We are considering purchasing a 1989 Maxum 2300 Cuddy with a 330hp motor and a Mercruiser Bravo Drive. Anybody have any input as to the quality and value of this make of boat.

Also does anybody know the towing capacity of a 1993 Chevy s10 Blazer. 6cylinder engine.
Any input would be helpful.

If the hull and transom are sound, and the drive line are in good condition, it sounds like a nice boat.

If it was not maintained, you will have troubles.

Have a qualified mechanic go through the boat, checking everything. Expect to pay for 2-4 hours of labor time.

Good luck towing that boat with the s-10, even if it has the factory tow package.

That boat weighs 3000#, plus the batteries, fuel, trailer, spare tire, water, anchor, gear, cover, just over 4000# by my calculations. Then add the weight of the fuel, passengers, and gear in the truck, thats a total of 4500#.
Thats more than the truck weighs, good luck stopping it.

Tow cap on the blazer is 4400 for 2wd, 4000 for 4x4. Not even close for that boat IMO.

I just looked it up in the Kelly Blue Book and it says that the 4x4 s10 Blazer has a 5500lb tow capacity. Are my numbers wrong if so could you tell me where you got yours.

no matter what you tow it with the trailer is going to have to have operating brakes.

A 1995 2000SC has a GVW of 3850# and is a MUCH smaller boat at 19' and only has 3.0 power

I cant see the 2300SC being less than 5000# with a big block and bravo drive
