Honestly, you'll get more help if you can be more specific. You must have other things you like/don't like in a boat other than you can use your engine. Is this boat for fishing? Will it be used for water sports? etc.

i plan on fishing in a river that has rocks and is shallow often. i also plan on bringing it in a local bay that has 2 foot chop on bad days.

going outside on a calm day cannot be out of the question.

fishing is the primary use

Without going thru the 16 (!!) websites you listed (and not even knowing what models or "kind" of boat you are considering from each...

I will say I own a short Carolina Skiff (J14) with a 25 Hp Yamaha 4-stroke tiller motor and am WAY PLEASED with it. Of course, I only use it for fishing ona calm river (99% of the time alone) so it suits my needs PERFECTLY.

They guys here will be glad to help - but I'd suggest narrowing the field significantly and letting us know the needs it's going to have to fill.

I like the Carolina skiffs as well. I don't have one, but I think they are really cool boats. Would be good for the shallow river fishing. but I don't know about bay fishing. I love the Triumph's also, but its a big boat for shallow river fishing. as stated before, try to be more specific and you will get more help.

If I were you I would plan on purchasing a boat that fits the type of fishing you will do 80% of the time. There is no boat that does all things great. I once had a Carolina Skiff J14 with a 15 Yamaha that did 22mph that was just fine for protected bays and even out to 3 miles on a calm day.
I would say a 16 or 17 Carolina Skiff J or JV series would be fine based on your requirements. Don't over power.

size i can work out but mostly im looking for experence and hear say..

like i hear that CS has poor QC by more then a few people..

and flat bottom boats tend to lead to back surgury...

i would have already bought a maycraft but they use wood.. and at that alot of it in the construction.

You forgot Boston Whaler and McKee Craft.
Wow, what a list.
I agree, you should come up with some more criteria.
