I am looking to buy a nissan 5 horse 4 stroke for a troller motor only. Wondering of those who have em like them. What is most important to me is quiet smooth (very little vibration). That model is a 1 piston engine, is that style liable to vibrate more? Prefer nissan for this motor for no other reason then to match my 40 2 stroke nissan tiller, which I am very pleased with.

A single cylinder motors greatest feature will be that it is lightweight! It really will not be "smooth" if that is you #1 feature you require! A jump up to a two cylinder motor will give you the smoothness you require at slightly more weight and $$$'s!

It's definately going to be "quiet" I was talking to a dealer when I bought my 2 stroke recently and he did tell me he had a few complaints about the one cylinder 4 strokes. He may have used the phrase "harmonic vibration".
