Keep your eyes open on Boattrader.com and Craigslist. Craigslist seems to have more listings than anywhere.
If you find a boat at a fair price, spend 1 hr. labor to have a qualified marine mechanic check the engine closely. They should drain the lower unit grease to inspect for water intrusion, and do a pressure/vacuum check to make sure the seals are good. (Seals are $300 repair.)
And you want any trailers to have the bearings checked and newly greased. You never want to be stranded with bad bearings.
