i have a 1981 evinrude sport, and while i was driving it i had it way opened and a buzzer was going off,i turned it off and turned it back on and it never did it again,it's never done this before so is this something to worry bout?thanks
I think TD is suggesting it was you overheating alarm, which I agree with.
To test your alarm, and see if this is the sound you heard, turn your key to the on position, (with out starting the motor) and stick a piece of metal into the slot above the key hole. This should sound a really loud alarm. If you only hear it once, I would not be too concerned, unless you are not spitting out enough water.
thanks for the replies, the motor still had a tell-tale with the same pressure it seemed to me and i felt the water while it was running and it wasn't to cold but it wasn't real hot either,is that good?
