Hi,
I got a 6hp mariner 4 stroke outboard, the fuel line connecter in the pan is broken (the plastic areound the bit wehre the fuel goes to the engine. This is causing fuel to leak whenever I try to connect the fuel line from the portable tank to the engine.
The engine is use on a sailboat and I was wondering if I can bypass the pan connector by removing the female connector from the fuel line from the portable tank and connect everyting together with jubillee clamps, copper pipe, etc
In other words, a direct connection from the portable tank to the line in the engine that feed the fuel pump. After all, the engine/fuel tank are stationary, it is not as I need to remove them each time after use.
I am trying to avoid paying around £40 which is the local chandler quoted me for a replacement pan connector!!!
Looking forward to your input
