I have tried a few things, but cant seem to come up with the answer, when I ride for 30 or so minuets at just above 1/2 throttle, a warning buzzer goes off, when I stop and just idle, the buzzer eventually goes off, I thought it was a buzzer for overheating, so I replaced the water pump, water comes out in solid and constant stream, Its a two stroke, so I'm guessing something to do with gas/oil mixture, owners manual says 100-1 mix, is that right? I'm new to these motors, so I might be asking a dumb question, I'm a fast learner. Thanks from the Newbie!

Thanks for the input, I have replaced the thermostat and the water pump, could it be the prop is either worn down or to small, it does look a little worn and maybe a like it was bent and then staightned out, and maybe a hydrofoil would help?

May need to look at the water pump housing along with the cup and plate if you did not replace them.may not be pumping properly or sucking air
You can pull and test temp switch to make sure it is functioning at correct temp.
If everything looks good then it sounds like you may have some water jacket plugging and will need to pull head and clean the passages

thanks, I already tested the temp switch and its perfect, i will let you know what happens when I pull the head and clean it, just acquired the boat from the in-laws, so im not sure if he did that or just replaced the pump:eek: hopefully that does it, the 40 pushes the boat great at 1/2 throttle, I want to open her up and see what she will really do!

I would look at the pump housing and plate and cup first if you do not know what was replaced before pulling the head. When you pulled the thermostat how did the passages look behind there?

Looked pretty clean, i pulled everything apart, pulled the tstat out again, flushed everything, hopefully that does it, could it be my prop as weell, the prop does seem worn and bent, I probably need a new (to me) one anyways.

I would not think a prop would cause an over heat problem. May not be loaded properly from prop problem, but sounds like you are not getting enough water through the motor.

Re: C40 PLRT warning buzzer sounds

okay, so after I cleaned everything out, flushed everything, its still buzzing, I have a good flow out of the pisser, it just buzzes when I run it above 1/2 throttle. Looking thru the owners manual, it just says things like oil level low, oil filter clogged, heat range of spark plug incorrect, and water pump/tstat faulty, since its a two stroke, theres no oil level or filter, i will check the plugs and see how they look, other than that, I'm at a loss. Could it be that the engine is mounted to high or low, putting to much drag on the engine/ something someone told me to check.
