CA Boat registration

Hello Everyone,

I am a student and new to boating. I have an Intex Seahawk II Boat and i am going to get a Tohatsu 3.5HP outboard for it. Do i have to register this boat???

Yes, that is the boat. I also bought the motor mount in the picture. I am currently using it with a 55lb trolling motor. I wonder if i have to register when i with the the trolling motor. The registration is for the boat right? not for the motor? If my boat is damaged, and i get another boat like that, or similar, do i have to register the boat again?? Thanks.

if Ca is like Florida, even with the trolling motor it has to be registered. another boat yes it would have to be registered. each boat has a Hull ID # on it. i believe it is one the stern behind the motor mount. I have the same boat with a 3hp on it. you will want to move the motor mount as high as you can get it with a 3hp.

Yes, must be registered. Not just for road, taxes, etc. but most lakes and marinas require proper CF reg to launch.

Can you share more of boating experiences with your 3hp? Why i should keep the mount high? They are selling 15" & 20" shaft, which do you think i should get?
Intex SH2 is a great boat for the price, but i left it under sun once, now the two bottom chambers kinda joined
