Cabin Mildew on Vinyl

My cabin on my 23' foot boat has a vinyl interior on the walls and ceiling. This somehow is very susceptible to mildew which it does frequently and easily. However, it is very very difficult to get the stains off and keep it clean. Anyone know of any good products for cleaning and removing the stains?

It has been much better since I placed a de-humidifier bar on the deck of the cabin, but if I leave the boat away from shore power for a week or two the mildew comes back. I have used everything West Marine has to offer to clean it, but it takes hours of scrubbing and has become quite expensive trying things that do not work.

Thanks

Tully Mars

Starbrite Mildew Cleaner...I looked and its same active ingredients as Kroger's bathroom mildew cleaner so I might just use it next time. Also, someone recommended scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner. BE SURE to rinse well and if you have removable carper, maybe remove it first. All of these are a bleach type product.

Tully_mars,
Meguiars makes an excellent vinyl cleaner /conditioner. I use it to get the mildew off of my white Jeep Wrangler soft top. It gets it back to bright white in no time. Never tried the starbrite product, but I did spend a lot of time/money trying various other cleaners.

The product is caller number "40 vinyl cleaner and conditioner" (their products all have numbers). www.meguiars.com

Nav
