cable adjustment help please!

Can anyone tell me how to adjust my cables? I can't seem to get it right.I hooked up the cables and the throttle is fine but the trans one seems to be binding up. I believe i have them in the right holes. It works fine if it is not hooked up to the motor. The shifter works fine and the selector on the motor works fine so what is up? Please help me save some money!!!

Make sure the cables are free, there should be 2 screws that hold the cables in place. Make sure the little plastic piece is inside of that or else it will cause it not go into gear!

i found out why they were not working right ! The idiot ( the guy that had the boat before me ) had the cables hooked up wrong so when i got new ones and hooked them up the same way, thinking they were right they were not . Hooked them up right and problem solved.
