I have a 1990 four Winns freedom with a 4.3 V6 cobra and a OMC lower unit. I need to adjust the shift cables but I don't know for sure which cable does what. There are two cables: One comes from the shift control by the driver and one goes to the lower unit. I am having a problem with the idle down switch when the boat is taken out of reverse. The componet that actives the switch does not always disengage when the shifter is taken out of reverse. If I adjust the position of the upper cable will this take care of the problem??
