Re: cable and pulley steering

I have ti think thatr by the time you get all your stuff to do this a kit like pictured will be close to the same.
I think s the coated cable alone might put you in the poor house. and the pulleys and cable will be exposed to fingers fish line tackle
mooring lines anchor rope and itself if it gets out of adjustment.
Some the things you need; Cable, a minimum of 4 and possibly 6 pulleys and possibly a way to attach them. 2 tensioners 2 clamps
Some guides for the cables along the sides of course the steering wheel assembly and the attachment at the motor.
and of course the remote control and cables for it.
Then there is the additional weight and complication with the accompanying maintenance.
The kit pictured seems reasonable also a stick steer would save space.
The home made tiller extension sure looks tempting at about $5.

Thanks for this link to the web site. I place a WTB and boom out of the blue came a "call me" and I found what I was looking for.
Will that work if I ask for a (free) 18' - 22' carver cabin cruiser?

Thanks again,

Seems you have a pretty fare argument for tiller steering. I just want to get forward, plus I would like to get this boat close to an original condition.

Thanks for your insight,
