Well, I read the section on the DFG-Cali website and wasn't 100% sure on some stuff still. Hopefully someone can help me here.

How many pots can be dropped per person in California?

I've never kept a female dungeness, but a guy said if they're keeper size, you can take them. True? False? I don't think I'd take one anyways, but I want to know the rules because I keep hearing different things.

If I drop my limit in pots, whatever that is, can I anchor up and toss a couple of rings off the sides of my boat?

A couple of other questions:

How long do you cook your dungeness? I've heard 12 minutes and I've heard 30 minutes.

Got any favorite sauces? or dishes to mix the crab in once it's cooked?

thanks!

Re: California Crabbing Questions???

NGT, I was born&raised in Nor Cal. before i moved to Washington state.
Last time i crab-fished in cailf. was 15years ago but at that time the limit was 10-dungies per person, 6"-min., and cannot keep females at any time. As far as gear(pots) goes it was 2-pots per person on a boat.
Cooking crab is easy and usually cooked two ways: 1- cooked whole for around 12-15mins 2-clean crab and cook 8-12mins.
I pick-up about 2-five gallon buckets of salt-water at the launch and use for the cooking.
I use the rock-crabs for crab-cakes, salads. The dungies i eat by itself with a bottle of white wine.

Where do you crab-fish in Nor Cal?
