Hey SBN,whatever folks may think that you're good or no good at is just a matter of opinion. Speaking about myself, there are times when i can be a self opinionated sob and right now is one of those moments,"SBN,you are THE lighthouse to this board" :) This would most definitely be a somewhat dull place without you,so whether you're the "Harbor Master"or the "Admiral Jokester" you're the guy who's posts brightens everyone's visit to iboats. :)

Can't iboats do ANYTHING for you guys without having to listen to griping and whining??

Congratulations on your special title, SBN. You are definitely the Admiral of jokes on this Board and give many a smile and a guffaw.

You are welcome for the effort and time put in to get it for you.

Your gratitude is underwhelming.

SBN.

"I guess it's the only thing I am good at in others' eyes". If that is from the horses mouth, then you are the horse.

It means nothing of the kind, and your comment sounds like a "poor me" complaint.

You are definitely good at providing smiles and laughs to us. That's what the overwhelming majority of your posts do.

You are certainly good at other things, too, but they aren't what you post about almost all of the time.

I think it is appropriate that your title honors your actual contributions, and that it would not fit to give you a title of a guy "in charge". Nobody has one (except Admin5, who IS the guy in charge).

Get over the idea you seem to have that you are being persecuted by your host and the moderators. When you behave according to the rules, which you have not always done, you are very welcome here.

Again, congratulations. Your title is intended as an honor, not a putdown.

here's a little sales tip for y'all...
never aknowledge an objection unless it keeps
coming up. most of the time they are not "real"
objections, but if you aknowledge them right away
you breath life into them and they "become" a
real objection...

Keep doin what your doin SBN, this would definetly be a dull site without you. You bring much more to this site than many of the people that try to bring you down.

Don't let the opinions of one person change what you do.

:( Sad, really sad. :(

Just think its not even winter yet and already..May I make a suggestion here? Once a certain status has been attained why not let the member involved choose his or her own nick..As long as the mods approve it. I have certain names I have attached to Spinner(can only say on chat).

Here again us ridgerunners take attachments personally since we are persecuted so much..JB could you send some of your warm weather East cause I'M a thinkn here its going to be a long winter..

Re: Calling admiral "Jokester"

SPINNER!, You're jokes "break the ice" for alot of folks here on iboats. Because of that, people are more inclined to "open up" and ask for help about "real life" situations. I know this is a boating forum, but when "How Do I Winterize My Boat" becomes more important than "I'm Having a Bad Day, Please Help" we're in for a world of hurt. Keep up the good work "HARBOR MASTER"

Re: Calling admiral "Jokester"

Mod 5
Let me put it another way - there are two types of regular iboats board members.

The first type of member comes because they love boats and love talking about them and helping fellow boaters with their boating problems. The second contributes very rarely to the boating discussions but likes coming back to talk about their views on homeless ex-NFL players who have made the news recently. Which of these members do we want to come here? ALL of you!!!

We just ask that you please respect others as well as the providers of these boards and post in the correct place while being respectful of other readers. The correct place for jokes and sharing your views on underage drinking is now this area. If you are offensive (even if you don't think you are), mean, vulgar or are just here to fight (we don't see many like this) then expect to see your posts regularly deleted. If you don't like these rules, please feel free to check out the chat/boards on yahoo.com. They have something for everyone.
Once again, thanks for the wake up call and the "one up manship" JB.

SBN looks like I need to visit the yahoo site. It would be nice if we could redirect the chatty folks to your yahoo chat room. See ya!

Re: Calling admiral "Jokester"

C'mom guys, a few of you whine about every change that iboats staff makes. When will you realize that they are trying to do the best thing for their business as well as keep all us forum members happy? Thats not an eazy thing to do, cut them some slack.

Spinner,
I'm sure no one from the iboats staff ever said anything that even applyed that "the only thing your good for was posting jokes", thats just not their style. Thats not the only thing that you are good for, but it is the only thing that you do here.......am I whrong?

I rareley post about boats meself, a large chunk of my 600+posts have been in the nonboating forums. But when I have an answer to a question or I have a question myself I always post it. When/if I reach 1000 poats I'll understand when they don't call me an "admiral"....I'm not admiral and I know it.

Now,
Chear up. iboats seems to be trying real hard to make you happy and please you, you have to meet them half way.

Re: Calling admiral "Jokester"

What the heck is in a title anyway. I personally like your new title.. :p

Truth is, there are far more important things in life than titles. I know who Spinner is, even without a title, he's a warm, geniunely compassionate person who makes a lot of friends where ever he goes. To me, thats enough.

Now, any more talk about this, and I am getting out the whip.

Thanks LF for the kind words.
Yes I am a passive kinda fellow that holds his temper when other's would blow their top.

As for you RyanT, you think all of my 3600+ posts have all been on this one forum?

Young man, take the blinders off.

I have made posts in the Merc/mariner, trailers, electronic forums also.
