I do see Don is helping you over there trying to isolate the voltage drop problem to the pump. You are almost there so hang in there. I notice in the schematic their is a diode from ign to relay. Most likely this is to prevent reverse current but I've also see them used as resistance needed in circuits (cheap) resisters. Diodes can also break down in reverse bias allowing current flow. Might want to check that diode out with a ohm meter.

I saw DonS helping out too, I'd stick with his advice as he's top-notch!

(though, just as a off the hip guess, I was thinking diode too...)


If that doesn't work out and you have to revert to the oars,,, I have an old 40# trolling motor I can lend you Couldn't be any worse than taking a girl to the prom on a bike :facepalm: Probably have the same outcome too

Thanks all, Don (as well as others) is helping and we are getting close to the fix and the deadline. We took Monday and Tuesday off, so if we don't leave home until noon Sat., everything is still good. The best thing is that we both still have jobs that cause the deadlines and the lack of time to work on the boat.

Just wondering also if fuel pump gets its ground through a oil pressure sensor/switch when ign sw is run position. For safety purposes. A oil pressure switch for a gauge (variable resistance) versus one that is on/off look alike and sometimes mixed up would cause this condition.

Go though an entire engine rebuild over 14 weeks and land 1 wire wrong and your sails are deflated.:facepalm:

What a great 3 days on the lake! High temps in the low 80's and no wind with water flat as glass! Temple Bar Marina was near empty and we rarely saw another boat. Nice maiden voyage.

Theres something about being on the lake when the weather turns ugly, and the waves turn to swells. These days hold many memories dear to me.
Sitting in a cove far from the launch ramp,watching the water get a little crazy always raised my heartbeats.Wondering if we gonna be able to make it back while all my friends go on about the day like nothing.The boat owner always carries these feelings inside for the whole boating experiance.The motor,batteries,gas,truck,trailer,bearings,and etc.My friends call me double check LOL .

Finally got to see the pictures at home. My work blocks most stuff out. Nice pictures and perfect boat for Lake Mead. Them Cuttys can handle all kinds of weather in lake coves. Glad you and Missus had a great weekend on the lake.
