I was out there early morning, and as i returned back to marina by 10am, every boat was loaded to the maximum with people.I dont like to bring that many people on my boat.3 is all i do as far as fishn and cruising around is concerned.And i never saw one ranger boat.

Sounds like you could have caught some sailfish with that wind if you stayed out for 2 more hours.

I wish, the only fish near calville are at the marina waiting for popcorn lol.For my next trip im going to old las vegas bay wash.The boils seem much better there.If anyone sees any boils near calville let me know where?All the bass tournys out of calville are making large mouth difficult.I know a few good holes north of sandy beach that do well but there getting smaller.

Thanks mzahn. We got back yesterday afternoon and had an awesome trip to the lake.

We launched Sat 6/30 and were on the lake every day. The 4th was blowing and gusty, but very cool temp-wise. I heard it was the coolest 4th since '87. We also heard many reports on the radio of boats sinking and rescues. I heard about the guy in Echo as well. We boated up there Friday for ice cream via the Gyps and Middle point, but got there after the store closed. I don't quite understand their hours. Closing at 4pm on a Friday? Really? We always used to park on the north side of the store dock but there's houseboats there now and there was only one spot available. I guess you can go to the left at the buoys towards the gas dock and park on the other side of the walkway. They really need to get in there and dredge out that bottle neck by the dock's corner. I know they've always had shallow spots on the north side, but you couldn't squeeze 2 boats by there the way it is. Pretty bad planning.

We bbq'd on the beach one evening and I was surprised how many of the group hadn't ever done that. That brought back memories of what it was like houseboating every evening for us.

We went to the Narrows on Saturday on the way to the dam, but never got any farther once the kids started cliff jumping.

Back to the grind!

This week's a hottie!

I actually saw a small class C motorhome Saturday in the Tbar lot by the courtesy dock with the generator running with at least 2 dogs left in it. Sat. got up to about 110. The ranger was there when I was but didn't seem concerned. I figured the dogs would be OK with water for a couple of hours if the gen died, but after that was a crap shoot. I can't really pass judgement because we took off out on the lake and I don't know how long they were there.

Yes indeed. Daughter and her Family are talking about going out Saturday. I strongly advised against it.

But you know, she's 31 and STILL knows everything.

LOL, I thought they started to forget some things after 30, but I can't remember

I just read a clip from the USNWS in Las Vegas for yesterday:
"Today's high reached 128 degrees in Death Valley. This makes it the hottest here since July 18, 2009. Since records started in 1911 Death Valley has only reached 128 degrees or better 20 times counting today."

That's HOT!

Nothing to do with the Lake that we love, but I get worried lately when I get a work email that says "where are you at on this?" I stay right on top of things at work and lately I first question whether I forgot to get something done when I see one of these and it takes about 3 seconds to ease my mind.

Fortunately it is always someone else that has dropped the ball, but I'm concerned about the switch, diode or chemical that might be be causing this.

It's funny when it's a customer that dropped the ball, their manager blames me for not staying on them...:facepalm:

If you drive just outside the old lake mead marina and follow the shore back west you will round the corner to a place where theres a big bardge floating there with a pipe in the middle big as hell.Does anyone know what this is?and what about the spot across from this where they were working at night with bright *** lights by black island before this.I saw this on google earth maybe its old.
