Man you have lake mead in your blood so deep bro.I wish i stayed close by you at temple just to watch you.

I'm just a rookie at this......and have a long way to go. But I do love it when I can get out there.

Launched out of Callville Saturday the 21st and weather conditions were hot (106) but not very windy at all. I hit up the usual spots...Wishing Well, Sandy Beach and some coves on Virgin Basin....

Hey, welcome, someone from my hometown :)

We're headed out Thursday and looking at just a couple of degrees cooler as the days go on. Looking forward to a nice prime rib, loaded baked potato and a cerveza chaser at the Hacienda Steakhouse on the way out.

C'mon Thursday!

Sweet! Sounds like fun.....I gotta tell you though, I miss the days when the Hacienda was the Gold Strike in the mid 90's. That steak house was the best! Haven't been there in years but if it's good I may have to try it some time :)

I miss it too. We stayed at the Gold Strike many a time. When we were housboating out of Calville we would come there the night before to let the games begin :D

The steakhouse is still excellent. I recommend trying it again if you're at that part of the lake.

Humidity is reduced, winds have calmed and tomorrow is Thursday!:D

Have fun out there. Daughter and family have been out since yesterday afternoon and from the pics, the water looks nice and flat (Boulder Basin).

Awesome, glad the family is having a good time and thanks for the info.

I doubt we make it over to Boulder Basin this trip. We plan on doing another bbq on the beach Friday nite, so we'll be on the lake late. The weather does indeed look awesome for the whole trip. Really looking forward to it.

Take care when driving to the lake, and anyone coming from So CA via Nipton Rd., be careful near Walking Box Ranch Road. there's a 25mph section where a flash flood came through and deposited a load of debris on the highway as of yesterday..

Great advice and know the area well. 12V, when you bypass Nipton Road and come up I-15 during wet conditions, do you ever wonder how all of that water seems to stay on the uphill slope in the dry lake beds and not rush to the low point?

Ha, well that must be the low point where the water is. I was surprised how much water was in the dry lakes by Primm.
I think it's just a weird sight phenomenon with the lay of the land the way it is.
There's a particular room in a little shack in Calico Ghost Town where it appears you're walking up a slope, until you roll a ball on the floor and it goes the opposite way.. it's just how the room is perceived in the mind.

Strange, I've been on that stretch at least 50 times and you couldn't convince me that it was flat. I went on google earth and it is 1211' for almost the entire length of the lake bed. GPS on next trip!

I'll be there over Labor Day, but that's it for Sept. Let me know where you're staying for sure.

Going to Ca Speedway for the Indy Car World Championships on 9/15. Got a great infield spot, turn 1, row 1.

We're going the week after Labor Day. Sat-Tues. Getting excited about it already, lots to do prior and then relax. I will be stopping by the office at T-Bar.

Enjoy the race!
