This week is Lightning Safety Week and I saw this today and thought it would be good to post since monsoon season is going to be upon us:

Lightning Safety

Check out especially At the Beach/Lake and On the Water

A Doppler radar app is good to have also during monsoon season. You don't know if the storms are heading your way or not until its to late.

The hull looks clean jj! I hope you get her ready before the season is over. Luckily, the season is long at Mead.

I use the Radar Express app, but it's not much use since internet reception is so bad in TB Basin. You will find us, often during monsoon weather, hiking to the top of the sand hill on the peninsula we beach on to check the weather coming up from the south - old skool style :eek:hwell:

Because of a narrow channel near the main launch ramp at Echo Bay, officials at Lake Mead National Recreation Area are encouraging boaters to use the low water launch ramp.

Looks about the same as earlier this year. It was a pain coming back in as a dude going out was taking his half of the channel,,, the center half. I'd still use the old ramp as I don't want a coating of dirt on my boat from hauling it down the dirt road to the low water launch ramp.

No lake fun for me. Kids and I caught the Kalifornia whooping kough (aptly named as we caught it in Ca) + work + vacations. I need my lake fix.....

Sadly I think we'll be out for the 4th festivities. Dropped the boat off at the Marine Center to have a water intrusion issue looked at. I'm getting way more water in the bilge then I like to see, so I figured I'd let the pros take care of it. While it's there I'll let them fix the bunk problem as well. Hopefully it'll be done before the 4th, but it looks like we won't be on the water for a couple weeks.

Bummer. Good news/bad news. The 4th should be hoppin this year since a lot of people will be taking Friday off as well and making a 3 dayer out of it. Hope your boat is ready. I'll be making an 8 dayer out of it. :target::whip: I don't know what beach we'll land on yet. Probably Mushroom area.

It is great to be back home where it is an easy and dry heat. The mid country is very sticky.....Bring on the one-teens!

The X's are where the wife's car decided to quit running. Each time at the end of a long day.

Headed out on the lake next week?

I will if I get Friday off, not sure of the work schedule yet.

Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada

Oh so frustrated. Went and got the boat today after spending almost $!200 to get everything fixed. Took it to Discount to get new wheels and tires put on, found a few other things out. They rebuilt the brakes and bearings and failed to tell me that one of the hubs is totally wrong (had lug bolts instead of lugnuts. So I spent some time in the parking lot swapping it for a new hub. Then I found something really scary, the weld that was holding the rear spring perch onto the trailer was broken. Yeah the rear axle was only held in place by the front perch on one side. Had my dad come over with his welding stuff to reattach it, and found out the entire center equalizing mechanism was frozen solid. Couldn't move it, couldn't take the bolts off with an impact gun, and even snapped a impact extension when we tries the breaker bar method. So the boat is sitting in front of the house on only the front axle and now I have to send it back on a tow truck. Amazing how someone would spent the money for a custom VM boat trailer and then fail to maintain it. Just so fed up with this whole situation. UGH!

I usually find these kinda things wrong in my yard,Let me tell you! tools go a flying!
So where was the water coming in from?If you had the outdrive redone, dont let it sit long in the full up trim position while in storage.
