calling all Michiganders (used parts help)

I bought a 68 ss deep v last year and have been enjoying it with my kids. It is in good original(ish) condition including the evinrude 55 hp outboard.
the boat does not have a windshield and I want to hunt one down.
Anyone from southeast Michigan who could point me in the right direction for used parts would be my hero for the day.

With the flat-ish consoles and topsides that our SS's have, you should have little difficulty adapting a windshield from another boat. One like djpeters posted above http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/boa/2399786532.html would be ideal.

You are in luck to be there.... One of the biggest boat junk yards, oops....... they don't like to be called junk yards any more... "re-marketed marine assemblies" LOL!!! is in your neck of the woods. They have 100s of boats. You may find a shield there. I live in NM but my brother that lives north side Detroit finds me hard to find parts there at times. Might want to drive out there and see what they got. Warning!!! Brother says to take LOTS of bug spray. Swampy area... lots of standing water ... http://www.checkermarine.com/home.html
