Hey Flahthead, I must correct some info I posted to you regards the 36VL being first Union Made HD. For some reason I had the '36 stuck in my head as a group of Aussies had a bunch of old running HDs at the 100th. These guys planned 8 years in advance, freighted the bikes to BC-rode 'em around the USA, and visited the PDC before the "official" start of the party.

First and foremost, the 1937 80" ULH is the first Union Made Harley. Yours my friend. The BW photo is torn from an old AIW Union book. The ULH pictured is a side hack job another visitor had on display, and a phoyo of the guys tag. That last photo is me and a couple of guys I work with in Capitol Dr,/PDC parking lot during early part of the party. I'm the ugly dude w/ green shirt. Lotsa real neat bikes there.

Christ, I'm loosing my mind with all the holiday stuff going on. Off now 'till next year thank God.
I always keep an eye on motorcycle posts and flathead does nice work. I used to buy junkers and parts and build low cost scooters myself, I'm ready to start at it again. Here is the last sidevalve I pieced together(10 years ago)for about $3500. It is a military scout frame,45 ci motor with 74 ci flywheels, cut down chief fenders, harley seat, etc.

Here is one that didn't work very well on the road but would go in fluffy snow. :D

Wish I could see those photos OMC. Nothing but the dreaded red X. I always have a few leads on old basket cases OMC. When you are ready let me know I might be able to get you a a good one. The prices have gone through the roof anymore, it makes it tough to even put a bobjob together.

Pat, That is an early 1940 Harley model G (servi-car). The box and rear fenders needed alot of work so I just bolted together a stake rack out of 1x3 strips. That was my first shot at redoing an old bike back in the '80's. A guy without the use of his legs ended up with it but he was broad sided buy a car a few years ago and was killed so I don't know where or if the trike is now.

ps- don't EVER put a ski on a motorcycle, The contact patch is TOOOOO long so you can't balance the bike.(just wants to go the direction the ski is pointing, and you cant turn the handle bars) however I had a cable wrapped around the back tire for traction and In the deep snow you could keep it up right. I rode it around for a half an hour and took the ski off.
