Hey Robert! Haven't read any posts from you for a while. Just wondering if you did anything to the boat lately. Always enjoy reading about your work. Infact, I just re-read your restoration on shareaproject to see whats new.

Drop a note if you have some time.

Mark

Re: Calling Realgun!

I dont need no Vcore modes. No. Lets see the original CPU runs 1.8Ghz and Now with a slight boost to Vcore I run 2.6 Ghz. Thats a $283 Opteron 165 running at FX60 speeds. BTW the FX60 costs $1069 dollars. :D And there is more left in her but I need it to last three years.

I will be adding 3 new needle valves to my Force motor so it will stop stalling due to lean or rich mixtures. :)

You're going to upholster your puter? ;)
That sure will run a nice gps chart plotter in the boat when you're done!

Realgun,

"Thats a $283 Opteron 165 running at FX60 speeds. BTW the FX60 costs $1069 dollars"

Why is that CPU so expensive? A 3+ ghz pentium is much less than that. Is that some special processor for gaming?

Are these things running so hot now that air cooling can't cut it?

Re: Calling Realgun!

FX60 and the 165 are Dual Core processors there are two CPU's. Besides a 2 Ghz AMD Athlon 64 will eat a 3 Ghz Pentium for lunch. :)
Try a Pentium D thats Intels Dual core processor.

And the 165 is about a 5 Ghz equvilant.

But now Intel finally got it through their skulls it's not speed but power that gives you the benchmarks. Conroe, Intels answer to the Athlon64, will be out in six months. About two years late. :)

Speed is everything for me I have 5 windows open at a time and am working them hard!

Re: Calling Realgun!

Yeah, it all in throughput, or how much work it can perform. Thanks for laying it out for me cauze I haven't been keeping up with CPU wars lately.

BTW, what is the length and beam on your bayliner? I like the overall look of that boat and was wondering how easy it is to trailer and launch.

Re: Calling Realgun!

Length is 17.5 feet. Beem is 6 or 6.5? not Really sure.

Easy to trailer and launch. The boat likes to hide behind my F-150 so was actually harder to launch! The Chevy Colorado is perfect as the sides line up with the boat. Ranger was a bit thinner so you needed extended mirrors. :)

Total boat all up fuel ect... ready to go is 1998 Lbs.

I no longer have the F-150-Fuel costs. Ranger-no rear seats.
