Cam roller cracked in half-missing

I am chasing down an idle stall issue. The first thing I noticed was the Throttle cam roller that Doug and I put on there has cracked off. I know it effects throttle up, but would this effect idle at all, running without a roller? I know that at idle it should be just touching the cam lobe mark at idle, and not opening the throttle valves?

No, unless a piece of it is hanging something up, but it should be replaced.

Yes going to replace asap. So much for my 5 minute fix.... back to the idle stall. All else is good, had been running fine, it just started cutting out when in neutral. Not sputtering, just a clean cutoff. Starts right back up. Carbs had been cleaned a few months ago(not sure if they link-n-synched), no ethanol marine gas used since. Any non carb tear-down ideas? Compression is good. The only thing I had changed lately was to gas up with Valvtect marine gas(different marinas than usual).

Try a portable tank to test first, go from there. May just be bad fuel.

Re: Cam roller cracked in half-missing

1. Replaced fuel filter
2. Replaced Cam roller
3. Decarbed
5. New plugs after decarb
6. Ran out old fuel-filled with fresh

Not stalling now, and runs/idles alot better.
