I quit gun hunting years ago. The bitter cold is one on a long list of the reasons why

The weather has down right amazing around here. I won’t even see the 30’s until next week then the 20’a roll in soon after that. It’s been 25 years since I’ve seen the harbors freeze up.

Well another season starts. Bit warm but I was bored.

Got a picture from the farm my grandson shot his first deer today, will skin and quarter it after his birthday party tomorrow.

My son and I doubled up on Monday with him taking a buck and myself a doe. His buck ran into a ravine that was like 70* steep. What a pain. Couple more weeks of archery until the orange army hits the woods.

Went over to the farm and cut up the doe made it thru without cutting myself not even a nic.

I may try to get out later this week for a sit with the rifle. I would rather bow hunt but can't have a cross bow but the set up at the farm favors a rifle.

It is just a doe harvest I have enough antlers on the wall. Should be pretty easy if the wind would just stop. Cold and windy not idea 15 mph winds.

Saw 8 turkey and 2 doe today … turkey were too far away and almost hit the doe with my car turning into a friends driveway! LOL!

Managed this ten this morning. Was my farthest archery kill to date at 40 yards. He only ran about 50 yards till he dropped.
With two deer in the freezer my season isover.
