Ok ... so you want to make a flat deck from front to back ...As was earlier mentioned once you cut the tub or deck out the sides will get flimsy .. But I would think if you install a new deck and tab and glass it in all around the perimeter of the hull it should stiffen things back up ... You will probably need to add a few bulkheads as well from side to side ...IMO it is doable ... Also you would probably need to reinforce around the top edge of the hull somehow for extra strength ...Your gunna need to really check out the transom and stringers for rot ... Don't even think about leaving any rotten wood in the structure or your just wasting your time and money ... The more pics the better for us to help with your idea's .. There is no such thing as a dumb question ...
