Merc engineers were *brilliant* when they did away with the spring loaded method and went with a fixed lash. Needs more tools to set up properly but is mechanically much more reliable.
I’ve got the 2 halves back together. I put 10 psi of pressure on the drive last night. After 10 minutes and with spinning prop shaft and changing gears no change. After 12 hours I had 5 psi. I’ve checked through the exhaust opening with soapy water, and where the oil path goes between the drives. Where else should I be looking?
There might not be a problem, temps change at night. Could also be the gauge and/or fittings used may have the leak. That said I've never let one sit all night, after an hour I'm good and fill it back up.
