Can a qucksliver 3000 replace aGeneration 1 throttle control?

I have a 1984 sea ray with a merc 488.
Throttle installed as original equipment is a quicksliver generation 1.
Side mounted. single lever. Trim/ tilt with throttle on lever.
Needs replacing.
Considering a Quicksliver 3000 .Same functions but function buttons and controls are located slightly different on lever.
I want to avoid replacing cables.
Does anybody have knowledge if my exhisting cables can be bolted into place on the 3000 model and all controls will work properly.
From I boats sales there is a aftermarket Tleflex that swaps out and cables can be used but trying to avoid that cost.

side mounts are usually horiz cable routing, flush mounts are more of a vert cable routing, as long as your cables are long enough ,the willl work.
