pees good. :)

Not so good on the vid, mine shoots out 4 feet. I'd say a new $12 water pump impeller would be a good idea.
Also, now you've given it a good run, check the gear oil again for water.
Pull the prop and check the shaft for fishing line, it gets in there and cuts the seals if left , grease the shaft before reinstalling prop.
Consider a water seperator, I personally consider it a must but I have a 60 gal tank. You can always pour yours into the car.

That rub rail can cause huge problems if water is getting past the cap/hull seal, most aren't sealed anyway. Water will get trapped and the stringers will rot very quickly, foam gets water logged etc, its a huge problem if left like that. Go to home depot and get a big cartridge of marine sealant, I used PL 5000 polyurethane construction adhesive on mine because I'm cheap and it worked.

I had one of the 70hp evins, great engine, it will outlast you if maintained.
Get the service book below , the real one not seloc or clymer.

That's a fantastic motor and it looks like it runs great. That motor does not have a "tell-tale" so it isn't really "peeing" at all. They minimal spray you're seeing from your exhaust relief ports is normal. However, I'd definitely change the impeller as a preventative measure anyway. I'm jealous that you got out on the water. Fortunately I think spring is just about here in PA.

Your right bee there is no tell tail for these years. Although thinking of adding one to it. And yes changing impeller in a day or so. Think it ran great though.

Yo Johnny..

There should be water coming from the little vents right above the cavitation plate... When its working right it really pumps out of there... I thought I had mine running good and what not.. But I never saw water.. Made me nervous.. Dropped the lower and the water pump was trashed... She seems like she runs like a champ... I love it that it shut down on you(not really.. I feel your pain and have felt my share) from the fuel line coming off... Welcome to the world of boating..

Free advice... Run down to the nearest Rude dealer and pick ya up a new water pump kit.. Real easy to install( good pointers given away for free right here) and will make ya feel better.. That or order one.. Too cold to fool around on the lake too much anyhow.. It didn't look to be pumping to well to me but the video was short and not focused in the right spot
I like to know how old my impellers are my rigs.. I never trust a seller

yep ordered a kit last night from iboats. will be here by next friday it said. so ill have something to work on next weekend. yeah i ordered me a parts catalog and service manual off of e-bay. read how to take off gearcase and I'm ready just need the parts. the only thing the kit did not come with was the housing. but i think if it hasn't burnt up it should be fine. anyway ill do that and update ya. thank you guys for the replies.

You know that looks good.. Strange that it is pushing water out there in the middle.. There is a little peice.. that mates the water pump's tube to the inlet tube for the engine.. That may be bunged up some( from a a previous impeller change) .. Not sure... Anyhow it looks to be circulating water well.. I wouldn't be afraid of running till ya get the new stuff installed

That motor looks like it is pumping water as expected. It is pumping exactly like my '76 70 HP (worried me at first, because it didn't look normal), but I verified that the power head was not getting much above 145-150 degrees with a non-contact thermometer. I did drop the lower and check the impeller, though. Its cheap insurance especially for a 30+ year old motor with unknown maintenance.
