His name is Bill.

Honestly, with no city, state, address, company name, boat make or model, year, or any info. of any kind? It's not clear what you're asking. Are looking for someone to identify a boat, person or business?

Have them show you the title first and whatever paperwork is needed for the trailer, then check the condition of the transom, cockpit sole/deck, and stringers. See if the motor cranks. If these items check out, $800 sounds fair to me.

"REN" =

Rendova Marine
1445 S.E. 16th St.
Ft. Lauderdale, FLA

I'd imagine the last 3 digits, 176, designate the model# or length. I'm bettin it's about 17 & a half feet long. Cool boat btw. Nice deep V.

OK spelling police, take a pill.
That thing doesn't look that bad. Galvanized trailer good, needs tires.
Stainless prop in what appears to be good shape, +1. The fact that the previous owner bothered to put one a boat of that age is somewhat of a plus, maybe it's had some decent care.
Drive looks like it's always been in fresh water, rams aren't leaking. No visible dents.
Doesn't appear to have been left in the water, hull doesn't appear to have been repaired.
Now all of the usual concerns apply. Rot? Block cracks? Title really for both boat and trailer? Being a Texas boat, hopefully it's avoided freeze damage.
Me I'd certainly look at something like that. I'm not saying it's a deal from what little we can see, but as presented, not too bad.

Re: can anyone id this guy????

This reminds me of a thread I saw last month...boat looks identical except for the color....similar Hull ID number including the 176 at the end. Guy said it was a Reinell as it had Reinell badges all over it. REN comes back Rendova from the Coast Guard database.....very strange!

Check the pics out at this link:

The serial number he posted and took a picture of is for the outdrive not the engine. Need to check all the things Dockwrecker said and hope all is well.

I believe this is a 1974 Reinell model 176...probably has a 120 Mercruiser.

Re: can anyone id this guy????

It's definately a 1974 something.

Iboats database has a 1974 Reinell model 176 in it. Look at the pics in the link I posted above....same boat different color similar hull ID. Both guys stated in their posts they think it's a Reinell.......I don't see Rendova any where except the Coast Guard MIC.....I'm saying the Coast Guard database is wrong. I'm saying it's a 74 Reinell model 176.....betting it's got a Merc 120.

Attach the garden hose to your muffs then slip the muffs over the intake. Only operate the engine at idle speed. NEVER run your motor without water.

Re: can anyone id this guy????

Don't assume Texas is warm enough to prevent freeze damage. Just last night I finished replacing a freeze plug AND the starboard side exhaust manifold on my 2006 Tahoe Q6. The ice inside the manifold blew the entire side of the manifold off. Fortunately for me, the block is fine. Winter storage for me is on the trailer and parked on the driveway at home. I always put a single 150 watt flood light (the outdoor type) in the bilge that gets plugged in only when the forecast calls for below freezing weather. When it's dark at night, I can peek at the drain hole in the transom and be sure the bulb has not burned out. Never had a problem before this year. The only difference this year was the bulb...I used a regular indoor type bulb of only 60 watts. BIG MISTAKE
