I have an 85 searay seville with a mercruiser gm 140 engine with a mercarb, and I cannot find out what year the engine is! Everyone I speak to over the phone is no help. The serial number on it is A465100 and I still have searched all over the web to identify and no luck. Im pretty sure its not an 85 because I ordered an exaust manfold for an 85 with a mercarb and none of the throttle linkage was correct on the manifold and it was a five bolt. The original is a six bolt manifold with a mercarb carb on it. Is it possible to get a mercarb on a rochester flange because every picture of six bolt manifold that looks like my bolt and linkage pattern is supposed to fit a rochester carb. PLAESE IF ANYONE HAS ANY INPUT, PLEASE HELP!!!!

Take this with a grain of salt, there are others here that are much better at identifing parts...

It appears that for that vintage, there were two styles; the difference being one or two piece exhaust elbows but they took the same exhaust manifold the p/n is 806867A 8, which appears to be a six bolt design. Is this the p/n you have been using? I've attached a drawing of the manifold.

Well, your engine is an 85, manufactured on 05/14/1985.
Do you realize that a Mercarb looks almost identical to a Rochester carb? Most obvious difference is the Rochester has 2 idle mixture screws where the Mercarb has only 1.

So will a mercarb or a rochester both fit on this manifold? Thanks for all your advice.

Can't say for sure, never tried. But I think the bolt patterns are different by just a little bit.

What is the part number of the manifold you have that doesn't fit.

Re: Can anyone PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I got it from ebasicpower.com the part number on thier web site is GLM51210 and my carb fit but the linkage for throttle and carb was not right. And it said it was for an 83 to 89 140 gm with mercarb.

That's the GLM replacement part for the Mercruiser part number in my first post. It's listed as 6 stud manifold...

Re: Can anyone PLEASE HELP ME!!!

That is the manifold I recieved in the mail but if you look at it, its only a five stud and the linkage holes are wrong, but if you go to ebasicpower.com and look at the manifold for year 62-82 or what not, thats what mine looks like but they say it fits a rochester carb and I have mercarb on original
