i've got this new to me 9 . 9 and i'm going thru her but i can't figure out what this line does. on the diagram it says lubricating line, now if i run it with the line disconnected it feels like crankcase plusating pressure, no fuel coming out just air. if i blow air into the brass nipple on the bottom exhaust side it seems clogged, now if i blow air into the top side i get a little air out the bottom and towards the carb. i'm stumped, is this an important hose and which way should the air flow? the third picture is a seafoam cleanin pic.

The hose has a check valve and is used to recirculate crankcase fumes. It connects to 2 places on the crankcase.

Those are lubrication pipes, sends fuel mixture upwards to lubricate bearings on crank shaft, if engine is used with any of both p?pes disconnected, will screw bearings forever...

so... the line should be clear from the bottom up or from the up to down, just making sure everything works as it should so i don't run into problems like burned out scorched no turn turn bearings/crank, thanks in advance.

The lower hose that exits lower nipple has a small round check valve inside, not visble, but can be felt with fingers. If reversed will not be lubing bearing properly and will be burned out. When you change check valves must assure that are assembled into lower hose at a correct just one position.

BTW, have never removed complete hose to blow air out, lubrication goes from lower to upper hose, check valve has 1 hole mark, middle ball, 2 hole marks. 1 hole mark must face nipple side, 2 mark must face flywheel side. If reversed while assembling, you're done.
