The SR# of the motor would be more helpful to idenify the correct year of the motor. There should be a tag on the side of the transom bracket with the SR# of the motor on it. If it is not legible then look for a block welch plug on the side of the motor about the size of a quater with numbers stamped on it. This will help get the correct info for the year of motor. JMO
