Can I lift OMC Sterndrive without Tilt motor?

My sterndrive died on me the other day. My tilt motor for the drive also died at the same time. It is an OMC "Stringer" model and I'm wondering if I can raise the drive without the motor. I can't trailer it without raising the drive, and I can't repair the drive without trailering. I'm in a real jam. Any comment would be really appreciated! Thanks....Oh yeah, I don't think the tilt motor/sterndrive problems are related, the tilt motor has been acting up for awhile.

For anyone who read my first post....I was able to raise my sterndrive without the tilt motor. I had to swim a bit though. There is a crescent shaped gear attached to the sterndrive that is held on with 3- 9/16" bolts. When this gear is removed it frees up the drive. It can then be lifted by hand.
