I only need to move it 38 feet .On a flat graval driveway in and out of my yard,will it work.

Short of coming to your house, walking your driveway and trying out your mower........ most likely yes

I use my tractor to move my boat all the time. I park my boat behind my garage and the angle of the nieghbor's fence makes it impossible to put back there with my truck.

I will admit my tractor is not a Craftsman, it is a hydrostatic drive "estate tractor". But it moves my boat without too much trouble. I only have trouble when the trailer brakes don't release properly. Then the front of the tractor gets really light, REALLY fast. Don't ask how I know.

For comparison my boat has a dry weight of 4950lbs, plus trailer.

Here is pic of my boat and the adaptor I had made for my 3 point hitch. Just slide in the receiver and you are good to go.

Sure, shouldn't be a problem.

I moved around all sorts of heavy stuff with my little John Deere 110...

Not as pretty as silvertips but got the job done...

Now I have this ol Ferguson 35 with a hitch about like Dan's there ^^^...

I wish I had pic's of my little boat mover. It's an old Jazzi electric wheel chair. It's 24v with it's own built in charger and drives with a joy stick. My tounge weight is around 250lbs and it handles it perfectly. I just removed the seat and welded a frame with a 2" ball dead center. I move mine around on concrete so I don't know how it would do on grass and my steepest incline is about 6 degrees for about 75'.

I guess my point is that if the tractor doesn't work out, there is always this alternative.. You can buy nearly the same thing in a two wheeled version. A lot of the RV storage places use them.

Wow, I would of never thunk it. My dad and I use to run all over gods creation replacing parts on these for veterans. I now wish I kept all the extra parts and scooters we had. I even had extra large seats!

Yah, like I said not real pretty. Had high school students (learning to weld) install that for me. Hard to see but there is a horizontal plate under neath that provides support for the receiver tube.

The advantage for that (both of those set ups actually) is that you can turn 360 and not jack knife as the trailer is pushed out/away from the tractor just enough.


smoke: that new 2 part smokey epoxy is all hype man. Plus it gets so hot at application it burns the sandwich handlers.

Yes sir you can, i have been using the same size engine on a real old John Deer Lawn mower Oh and i get my wife to do it. Move up to 21' boats often. oh and "Don't forget to bring a towel!!"

In SW FL most boat yards use them along with golf carts to move boats around the yard. The hardest part is getting it moving (energy in motion tends to stay in motion) at the airport we use a small 3 wheel cart that is shaped like a wheel barrel with a 1/2 hp motor to pull twin prop aircraft around, the 5hp cart pulls small jets likc the citation bravo so your tractor can pull it with no problem

when my boat is in the yard, i have moved it before with my tractor. 06 cub cadet GT3200 with 25hp kohler command pro v twin shaft driven. the tractor with mowing deck on it weighs 1300 and the rear dif lock sure helps when the grass is wet. the boat on trailer wieghs 4500 and has surge breaks.

i know that the cub can move it with no problems but i dont like to do it alot. my jeep moves it with ease and i dont want to damage my tractor.
