Can I Paint??

Hi just sealed the inside of my aluminum boat with 3M-5200 and was wondering after the cure can I paint over it?<br /><br />Thanks the rook

I use it all the time and don't see an issue with it. The instructions should say if there was a problem.

Yes you can paint it but the paint will chip and peel if it is at a flex point.Charlie

Yo Crazy Charlie I know your a big backer of 5200 on aluminum riveted boats. I used glu-vit to seal the bottom ext. of the boat and then sealed all of the rivets and joints with 5200 on the inside. Will let it cure for about 5-7 days before going back out on the water.<br />My question is do you think this method is sound or will I have trouble in the future?? I cleaned and preped both sides and did the repair work in warm mostly sunny weather.
