Do Shops/Mechanics/Marinas frown upon this ?
I did my impeller & WP gaskets but forgot my oil was getting milky towards end of last season.
Anyways, can I remove my LU myself bring it in for a reseal job & reinstall myself or is this frowned upon by the average marina ?
Also how much for a reseal job 1994 40 merc ?
thanks..

Sure, Lots of people do it.
They don't want your boat in their yard any more than you want to leave your boat sitting in their yard.

Price?

You might want to try changing the lube again and install new gaskets/washers on the drain and fill screws. They may be the cause of your leak. If it is still leaking after a few hours use, then have it resealed.

thanks Cap.
I figured as much but wanted to ask.
I dont have that Merc tool & my time is limited these days.
I can drop my LU in less then 10 minutes but never did the seals before maybe this is best for the pros..
I've put new drain/fill gaskets on it allready, as matter O fact I've been swapping out the lube every 10 trips with elcheapo Lubrimatic so I dont lose the LU, I trailer & it's no biggie..
Anyone know of a ballpark price to reseal '94 40 Merc gearcase that I removed myself ?
thanks..
