Hey all,

I have an '86 mariner 30 hp engine, I have a rubbing noise from under the flywheel and would like to eliminate this as a possiblity, anyways I want to take out the lighting coil- since I dont use it and the wires to it are capped off. Is there any problem with doing this?

how about taking a little paint or white-out and paint these flat surfaces. Reinstall the flywheel and give it a few turns. Remove flywheel and address the offending (scraped) component?
Hey Schematic, how could just adding a few arrows and removing one make the filesize of that image 10 times larger?

Thats an idea, but I dont know if they would be scraped unless they were at a high rpm such as when running or idling.

Would it be possible to simply remove the lighting coil? Again i dont have a need for it.
Thank you!
-John

yeah it'll run without........but thats cheating

Yepblaze
you had to catch me didn't you! The original was a .JPG I wanted to save it as a GIF but a slip of the mouse and I saved it as a JPG. My JPG's are defaulted to a very low compression. Much less than the original. I got in a hurry(gotta fix moma's car) :D
