Hello!

I found someone who have the same engine and boat as I do. Mercury 125HP two-stroke on a Alicraft 18.5 ft boat. Known as Alicraft Norwind 18. 500KG without engine etc. It is a small cabincruiser, got a little cabin in the front.

He had a 14 1/4 x 23P on it. I found a 14 1/4 x 23P Laser II SS prop in my hometown for a good price. But I've read that those props are only used on bassboats.

Does 14.25x23P sound to be alot of prop on a 125HP on a 18.5ft CC? The engine is a low-rpm engine as the recommended RPM is 4750-5250.

He said that he gets 37-39 GPS knots on WOT. 5000 RPM with a little bit to go on and cruising on 3000 RPM at 23-25 GPS knots. This sounds to be pretty good. Not too much noise and (for meg) good cruising speed.

So my question is, it that prop usable? I got a 13x19P alu. that I will use first, but I do not think it will work at all..

Some said that I should get a 21P if my WOT speed is around 40 knots.

Don't see why you can't use that prop as long OB runs at their wot rpm factory range. Firstly need to wot "tach" current alum 19 pitch as usually loaded on flat, calm water cond. Will know where OB is standing. With a 21 pitch will achieve less hole shot & less wot rpm compared to a 19..

Your boating likeness is based in speed, should be based in wot rpm...

Happy Boating

Because some people meant that it was for light, fast boats. Like bassboats with big engine(s).
