Can I use this tilt/trim?

I have a 2002 Mercury 40 hp 3cylinder 2 stroke motor. It has a tiller handle.

Every time I need to adjust the tilt of the motor I have to practically hang off the back of the boat to try to lift the thing.

Somebody dumped a boat on my property that had this tilt/trim on it. Does anyone know how I could incorporate this thing on my motor? Is it worth it?

How do I test if it works at all?

I know I've seen a number of people adapting tilt and trims for different motors but not sure rule of thumbs for doing this.

if it will bolt up i would use it if you need tilt but tilt and trim will make motor run faster and plane boat out quicker all you have to do is pull back the wire prob blue and a green wire one is tilt up the other tilts down touch test light to them should light up when you trim it up or down , put hot wire to them see if motor good if so i would hook it up , if you dont use it i need one ill buy it from you if you dont want much for it , the answer to your question is yes it is worth it
